with

G. F. Mlely

Available for performance and discourse in a live program called

Mode and Structures for the 21st Century Improvisator

Featuring Songs and Pieces with The 8-Tone Quarto-Modes

Willie Ruff, professor of theory (now emeritus) at Yale University and half of the world renowned Mitchell-Ruff Duo, called Mlely one Sunday, where Mlely was living at the time in Hawaii, to say how delighted he was to see a problem longstanding in music theory being tackled, and called the music compelling.

To ensure wide audience appeal, the Program, which features the Inventions discussed and parsed in the book, will also include earlier compositions that incorporate more familiar, standard elements that led towards the final formulation of The 8-Tone Quarto-Modes Concept

Depending on the presenter, the program additionally includes a talk by the author-composer on the new work, followed by Q&A.  CD recordings of pieces discussed in the book will be available.

For a broader overview of previous work and career, type "G. F. Mlely" into most major search engines, such as Google or AOL(Arts).  8-Tone Exhibits are also published online.
